College Scholarship Awards
Each year, the Foundation awards college scholarships for high school students who demonstrate a strong desire to achieve excellence in education and their future careers.
Applicants submit an essay explaining their aspirations, along with a resume detailing their educational and civic activities, to be reviewed by our board of directors. Each scholarship will have a minimum value of $1,000, and the number of scholarships awarded will be based on available funding each year. |
Career Training ProgramThe organization sponsors two training sessions per month to teach and improve general career-oriented skills for high school students.
In these workshops, students learn skills that are essential to success in the professional world, such as dressing appropriately, resume building, interviewing, ethics training, interpersonal communications and interacting with authority figures. Working with local businesses and educational institutions, we help to provide a qualified talent pool for local growth industries. |
College Readiness Program
We help at-risk high school students better understand the route to higher education, through a program called “A Different World (All About College).” The program includes ACT prep classes, an annual seminar on applying for college and seeking financial aid, as well as a two-day bus trip to visit college campuses and stay overnight in on-campus dorm rooms.
