Our Focus: Opening Doors of Opportunity

Created in 1997 by NBA basketball player Robert Pack, the Robert Pack Foundation exists to bring hope and opportunity to disadvantaged youth.
A New Orleans native and now an assistant NBA coach, Robert direct the Foundation’s resources toward assisting less fortunate young people in the city he calls home.
While an imbalance of income and social equality among urban youth is a nationwide issue, New Orleans has a particularly unsettling problem. According to a recent demographic study by the Data Center of New Orleans, approximately 39 percent of local children (1 in 3) live in poverty. That’s nearly double the national average. The unfortunate circumstances these children are born into (often single-parent, low-income households in troubled neighborhoods) dramatically impede their ability to build successful lives as adults.
Without a support system in place, they struggle to achieve a proper education and face constant exposure to the negative influences of drugs and crime.
The Robert Pack Organization focuses specifically on elevating these young people, revealing pathways to overcome their challenging lot in life, and helping them discover their true potential to become productive and upstanding adults.
